Within our school we are governed by a local advisory board.
Our key roles are:-
To work with the Headteacher to set the strategic development of the school so that our children continue to receive the very best education, develop their self-esteem and respect for others, and remain safe and happy.
To hold the school to account for delivering this strategy.
To manage the finances of the school and ensure that resources are focused on school priorities.
The Governors of Gaddesby Primary School (known as the Local Advisory Board) meet as a full board at least twice per term to discuss a wide range of topics including school policy, curriculum, pupil progress, financial matters and safeguarding. Our Governing Board is made up of Parent Governors, Co-opted Governors and Staff Governors. You can find governors attendance at these committees on the “governance arrangements” link below.
Governors are also invited to visit the school whilst lessons are in progress and also to monitor other aspects of the school. They report back to the full governing body at subsequent meetings. Governors meetings are recorded and copies of the minutes are filed in school.
All of our governors have access to high quality training which enables us to improve our skills and keep us up to date.
Governors also play an active part in school life by attending events such as sports day, school trips, parents evenings and performances.
If you would like to contact a governor at any time, or ask about becoming a governor in the future, please contact the school office or our Clerk to Governors, Anna Duval.
All of our governors were appointed by the local board. Parental appointments are made by election.
Gaddesby Primary School is a member of Bradgate Education Partnership (BEP), a local multi-academy trust, which provides significant support to our school.
